Good StuffK'Gari (silent K, rhymes with "starry") is the largest sand-island in the world, and we went on a three day camping trip courtesy of the stunningly good DropBear Adventures. I don't usually advertise but I really can't speak highly enough of them. As such the "Good" portion of this write-up can be summarised as "Most of it". The island was pretty well an unspoiled paradise, with your stereotypical white Aussie sand and the nearest thing to a road being either the beach or some inland tracks with all the smoothness of an acned teenager's chin. Both very good fun to hare along in 4x4s. Bad StuffGenuinely not much at all. Every day was simultaneously relaxed and jammed with stuff to do. I guess needing to grab a large stick every time you disappear at night for a wee is less than ideal, but we didn't get mauled to death by dingos so that's something. It could've been a bit warmer on some days, but honestly... I'd go back in a heartbeat. Mood StuffI think finding a bunch of like-minded people (that is to say, not overly young and eager to listen to electronic music and get drunk) made this experience all the more enjoyable. Other than odd moments I felt genuinely light and upbeat for the whole three days. How cool is that? Kinda goes to show that even being dumped in a tent without basic amenities can be thoroughly enjoyable if you find some decent people and a tour guide who's totally in love with the location, and madder than several barrels of monkeys,
